Vancouver Police are releasing a composite sketch, as well as photos of clothing found near the crime scene, in an attempt to identify the man responsible for the sexual assault on a woman in Stanley Park.

Around 8:30 a.m. on May 26, a woman was jogging near Lost Lagoon when she was grabbed from behind, knocked to the ground, and groped. The woman fought off her attacker and he ran off.

A thorough search of the area by police and Park Rangers for the suspect was conducted. While the suspect was not located, a number of items of clothing were found discarded near-by.

The suspect was described as Aboriginal, late 30s to early 40s, 6′ tall and about 190 lbs.

Anyone with information about this attack, or who may know the identity of this suspect, is asked to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at (604) 717-0602 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222 8477.
