Photographer's stunning shots of Vancouver land him in top 12 of international competition

We all experience the beauty of Vancouver on a daily basis, but sometimes we take it for granted.

Amateur photographer Dio Ostuni serves us the perfect reminder of how stunning our city is through his gorgeous photos of Vancouver. Hailing from Brazil, he says he fell in love with the modernity of the city and the natural surroundings that encase it.

Ostuni, who graduated from Vancouver Film School as a Concept Artist, managed to make it in the top 12 of the out of more than 1,800 applicants through an online voting process in The Rookies competition.

The Rookies is an international award for artists, and were created to help launch young talent into their chosen careers.

And while Ostuni might not consider himself a professional photographer – he told Daily Hive he simply wants to share his love for Vancouver – his gorgeous work says otherwise. He first picked up a camera when he was a teenager, and has been snapping photos ever since.
