Model: Justine Leavers
Justine Leavers grew up in a small North Okanagan town and traveled through Europe and South Africa after high school before settling down in Vancouver, which she has now called home for almost a decade.
Aside from a modelling class Justine took when she was twelve years old, she had always been more interested in the design and styling aspects of photo shoots. She was actually named “most likely to be a fashion designer” in her high school year book. Justine created the dress worn in the photos which was inspired by a 2007 Alexander McQueen dress which was embroidered with silk and fresh flowers.
Justine worked in the fashion industry for a few years but her career took a turn last year, and she is now in the early childhood education field and owns her own business of aesthetically pleasing handmade plush toys called tuk + milo (www.tukandmilo.com)
