VcB: Tell the people of Vancouver a little bit about yourself?

Lucy: I’m from Cairns, Australia, one of the most amazing, tropical places in the world! I came to Vancouver late ’09 to visit my boyfriend for 5 weeks and ended up staying! I love dancing, music, designing, art, sport, being a goofball and eating!

I’m probably too well known amongst my friends for making ‘that’s what she said’ jokes but I just love to laugh, even if it’s because of nerdy jokes hehe. I’m a huge family girl, my Mum, Dad and brother are my very best friends, and I talk to them everyday..sometimes several times a day, thank god for skype, Facebook and international SMS deals!

I have a million passions and aspirations and get bored very easily. Which, is sometimes frustrating but pays off! I spend my days dancing, making swimwear, working on my social networking pages and upcoming website, training, photoshoots, going to the dog beach, and chatting to my friends etc… in like a thousand different time zones! Hard to keep track of everything, hehe

VcB: You’re part of the Felions Cheerleading team for the BC Lions. How has that experience been thus far?

Lucy: It’s amazing! The BC fans are so loud and enthusiastic and they make it such a fun experience! The Felion’s are all fun, talented and sweet girls and everyone is so ambitious and friendly. We all get along really well which is probably shocking to hear about a group of 36 girls! Its kind of a big family, we’re all so proud of what we do and even though I’m not from BC I am such a proud Lions fan! Plus I get do do what I love (dancing) and help pump up the crowd at the same time!

VcB: What made you want to get into modeling?

Lucy: I always wanted to do it but was always too short, I ended up accompanying my friend on a shoot with one of Australia’s best photographers when I was 17 and he wanted to shoot me as well! He showed me that height isn’t important unless youre on the runway and to be honest I don’t think runway would be as fun as what I do. I enjoy doing photoshoots and I’m proud to be a shortie (hehe). Turns out that there are so many opportunities out there that I never imagined and I am loving it!

VcB: You make your own swimsuits, in fact you wear them in a lot of your shoots. Is that something you’d like to be doing as a business in the future?

Lucy: Definitely! I can’t wait to have it all up and running, I already have alot of friends here, back home in Aus, and in the U.S. asking me to make them swimsuits! It’s such a cool feeling having my friends want something I’ve made. I just have a few things to iron out then I will be ready to sell them! Its not something I want to do to make a lot of money, that’s the last thing on my mind, I want girls to have something they love and feel cute or sexy in and even better that it will be mostly my friends wearing my stuff!

VcB: What’s your favourite thing about Vancouver?

Lucy: Honestly, I love pretty much everything! Its so diverse and there’s so much to do. I’m a big sports fan so I love that there’s such good sports here! I LOVE the Canucks, the Lions (obviously) and the Whitecaps so no matter the time of the year there’s always a game on.  I love the beaches (Ambelside dog beach, West Van is my fave) The forests and the city and the shopping is awesome!
