Janelle was born and raised on Vancouver Island and considers herself to be a total home body. She spends a lot of her free time playing online games or watching movies. I’m not a big party girl, but when I do go out, I love dancing! In school her favourite subject was always art, as she was constantly painting or drawing and that grew into a love of makeup and cosmetics… so a few years back, after graduation she moved to Vancouver to go to make-up school and that’s actually how she started modeling.
Vancity Buzz: When did you realize modeling is something you wanted to pursue?
Janelle: Modeling actually wasn’t something I pursued, I was walking to class one day and one of the representatives from the schools modeling agency approached me and asked me if I’d join their roster. The rest is history.
VcB: Where do you see yourself in the future, in terms of your modeling career?
Janelle: I’m actually extremely shy and I have a full time job in the cosmetic industry, so this is more of a side job than a full time career, but I really enjoy it so as long as photographers still want to take photo’s of me I’ll continue to model.
I don’t really know what the future holds but I would love it if I could make a living with modeling but it’s something that I know won’t last forever so I’m enjoying it while it lasts.
VcB: Any unusual/weird experiences during a photo shoot?
Janelle: I did an outdoor shoot at third beach in Stanley Park and there were random people I didn’t know wading out into the water to take photos of me and the photographer..haha.. that was kinda odd.
VcB: Biggest turn on?
Janelle: A man that is confident, but not arrogant.
VcB: Biggest turn off?
VcB: Favourite thing about Vancouver?
Janelle: I love Vancouver! it’s got the perfect amount of fun and excitement but I can still escape the craziness and sit by the ocean. It’s absolutely beautiful here.
I do try to get home to the island every summer though to visit my family, go fishing and just relax. Things move at a much slower pace there and it’s a nice little vacation.
