Every month, the Cit compiles a list of Vancouver’s must-see events. This makes it easy to ensure that you’re always around ‘n about town experiencing all that vivacious Vancouver has to offer. We’ve drawn from various sources to make this calendar your monthly go-to list for all things Vancouver. The Cit is pleased to release the May edition of your Vancouver Social Calendar. Vancouver International Burlesque Festival
Dates: May 1-3
Location: Vogue Theatre

DOXA Documentary Film Festival
Dates: May 2-11
Location: Various venues
What: Celebrating independent and innovative documentaries with 90 films + 78 screenings

North Shore Green Markets
Dates: Opens May 2, on every Friday from 5-10pm
Location: Shipbuilders Square, North Van
What: Over 50 vendors + 15 food trucks + live music + local breweries on tap

Vancouver Web Fest
Dates: May 2-4
Location: Imperial Vancouver, 319 Main Street
What: Canada’s first web festival celebrating the progressive evolution of entertainment and programming

BMO Vancouver Marathon
Date: May 4
Location: Downtown Vancouver
What: Full + half marathons + free EXPO at Canada Place + street festival

BC Spot Prawn Festival
Date: May 10
Location: False Creek Fisherman’s Wharf
What: Celebrate the start of spot prawn season with a boil, cooking demos, live music, and more

Richmond Night Market
Dates: Weekends, May 16 – Oct 13
Location: 8351 River Road, Richmond
What: Over 250 booths + food + entertainment + candy castle

Vancouver Chinatown Night Market
Dates: Weekends, May 16 – Sept 7
Location: Keefer Street

Cloverdale Rodeo
Dates: May 16-19

What: A world-renowned festival of performing arts for young audiences

EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival 
Dates: May 30 – June 1
Location: BC Place
What: Celebrity chef cooking demonstrations + culinary competitions + food & beverage exhibits + shopping

Vancouver Craft Beer Week 
Dates: May 30 – June 7
Location: Various
What: 60 breweries + 30 venues + 9 days of beer
