Vancouver Jewish community hosting tribute to Leonard Cohen

The Jewish Community of Greater is organizing a Tribute to Leonard Cohen, (1934-2016) on Sunday, December 11.

Linda Lando, who represented Leonard Cohen Artworks for the past eight years, has pulled together a commemoration to mark the passing of the Canadian legend.

A total of 22 works of art by Leonard Cohen will be on exhibit in the Sidney and Gertrude Zack Gallery.

The show features limited edition prints, with Cohen’s seal on each one.  The exhibition comes courtesy of Yosef Wosk.  The Gallery will be open for viewing from 2 pm to 9 pm.

A program honouring Leonard Cohen will be held at 5 pm in the Wosk Auditorium.  The evening will feature Ira Nadel with a presentation entitled Days and Nights with Leonard.

In addition, freelance journalist Matthew Gindin will be giving a talk on Cohenand Jewish spirituality.

Cohen died in Los Angeles at age 82 this year, and was buried in Montreal following a traditional Jewish service.
