We are officially in the full swing of fall, and while the weather is getting colder, the food and beverage scene in Vancouver is getting hotter.

Foodies in the city are prepping their stomachs for the holiday season, and November is the perfect warm up for this. It’s definitely time to get in the groove of eating, drinking, and being merry.

With this incredible lineup of events all month long, how could we not be excited to gear up and take some seriously epic food down during one-of-a-kind experiences?

Game On Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

This themed tea at Notch8 in the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver offers a selection of goodies such as house made scones, along with cleverly-named offerings such at the savoury ‘Go Fish’ Niscoise Sandwich and Chess-nut Tart (Candied Chestnut, Duck Confit), and sweet treats like the Double Domino Lemon Tart, Red Velvet XO Macaron, and the Checkmate Battenberg Cake to name a few.

Tipsy Tea at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

The Fairmont has taken their tea to the next level this time by offering a ‘Tipsy Tea’ 19+ event which runs Friday evenings from October 6 to November 17 at 7 pm. This event is $75 per person. This means you need to get your crew together, head to the tea room in Notch8 Restaurant + Bar, and bring your appetite and your competitive spirit. You’ll be going head to head in games like Snakes & Ladders, Operation, and the Game of Life.

When: Fridays from October 6 to November 17 at 7 pm

The Holy Crab Monster Roll Challenge 2017

The Holy Crab has concocted an event like no other – The Monster Roll Challenge. Running from October 31 to November 30, the eatery is inviting groups of two participants at a time to finish the Monster Roll as fast as they can and under five minutes. The 36-inch five pound roll will be sliced down the middle and each individual will be required to eat exactly half of the monster. Both contestants will need to eat everything on their half, meaning the table must be clean for the timer to stop.

Choux & Champagne – Eclairs Party Style

Head to this one-of-a-kind five-course truffle dinner experience. The Vancouver Health Show is a two day consumer event for the health conscious individual. This year attendees can expect new and reliable food, supplement, exercise and lifestyle tips that promote healthier living. Vancouver Tea Festival

The Vancouver Tea Festival is back this year for its fourth annual celebration of all things tea. On Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5 head to the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver and the adjacent Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden to dive into the world of the planet’s most consumed beverage (other than water, of course).

Fraser Valley Wine Festival 2017

Known as the Fraser Valley Wine Festival, the event is taking place in Langley on Saturday, November 4, at the Willowbrook Shopping Centre, from 7 to 9:30 pm. The 19+ event is hosted by the Rotary Club of Langley Central and tickets are just $55 for, quote: “all the wine you can handle.” As well as the different pourings that patrons will be able to enjoy, 12 different Langley restaurants will also be serving up hot and cold hors d’oeuvres.

Eat! Vancouver

The 15 annual EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival is back. This festival is all in support of Project CHEF and will feature award-winning chefs across Canada teaming up with local chefs for unique dining experiences. This year’s events include EAT! Dinner Series, EAT! Harvest, EAT! Pastry and EAT! Expert Classes, so get planning and then get eating.

Ancora’s Caviar Festival

For the third year in a row Ancora will be offering a special Caviar Festival menu for the month of November. The menu will feature an elegant ensemble of dishes that showcase several different varieties of caviar. Guests can also opt for a classic caviar tasting with blinis, crème fraiche, and chives. Reverse 7-Eleven Day

The Canada-wide chain of convenience stores is celebrating Reverse 7-Eleven Day–on Tuesday, November 7 (11/7), obviously–by giving away FREE medium-sized Slurpees. There’s just one catch… To take advantage of this free giveaway, Slurpee fans have dress backwards. Which may or may not be better than dragging an oversized fish bowl down to your corner store.

Tacofino x 33 Acres Brewing Dinner

33 Acres Brewing Company and Tacofino are collaborating on a dinner party that’s perfect for taco-loving-beer-drinking Vancouverites (AKA most of the population). ELLEvate TogetHER

Chicken Nugget Festival 

Someone has organized a Chicken Nugget Festival on Saturday, November 11 and it sounds nothing short of hilarious. Organizers have asked attendees to bring their own nuggets and dipping sauces, and enjoy this widely-loved poultry dish together as one from noon to 3 pm at Central Park in Burnaby. While there won’t be any chicken nugget vendors to buy food on the premises, we urge you to turn your oven to 375 degrees, cook your own nuggets, and head to Central Park on November 11 to celebrate, dip your nugs, and celebrate some more.

Ancora  Champagne Dinner

Ancora will be hosting an intimate long table Champagne dinner November 15. Reflections Winter Patio

Hopscotch Vancouver

Now in its 22nd year, Hopscotch Vancouver is back with six days of celebrating libations, including Scotch and other whiskies, craft and premium beer, craft and premium spirits, wine and food has been given a facelift. This year, the festival ditched its corporate vibes and will be offering the public the chance to try over 400 products. Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown

The annual Ocean Wise Seafood Chowder Chowdown is on in Vancouver this November. Now in its tenth year, the event in support of Ocean Wise sustainable seafood programs, will see past winners compete for the title of “All-Star Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown Champion.” In this All-Star edition, culinary heavyweights will go “ladle-to-ladle” in the soup-centric cook-off as attendees and a panel of judges sample the goods before casting their votes to name the 2017 champion.

Beanstock Coffee Festival is going down on Sunday, November 26 at 298 Alexander Street (a warehouse in Railtown) and if you love yourself a good cup of Joe, you’re going to want to check it out. Expect food and pastry venors, wine, beer, and of course, a hell of a lot of coffee.
