Feast on the Fraser

Feast on the Fraser is back this fall for ten days of food-filled fun in New Westminster. Taking place from September 22 until October 1, this event offers everything from longtable dinners to cultural tastings and everything in between. Feast on the Fraser was created to show people the best of what New West has to offer – from food to fun, this schedule is packed with exciting culinary events.

When: September 22 to October 1

French Gastronomy Series: Provence

This class by Tartine and Maple will take you to Provence and demonstrate Bouillabaiss, a fish and shellfish stew. Attendees will learn how to make Pissaladière (flatbread covered in caramelized onions, olives and anchovies), Bouillabaisse, and Navettes de Marseilles (orange flower flavoured biscuits, accompanied by homemade peach in syrup and vanilla ice cream).

UBC Harvest Feastival

This event kicks off with a cocktail and reception at the Alumni Centre, which is followed by a six-course feast, local wine and beer (for purchase), live music, and entertainment. The after-dinner entertainment includes special shows and exhibits planned just for you at UBC’s world-class Arts and Culture District.

Vancouver Cheese and Meat Festival 2017

The Cheese and Meat Festival allows consumers to taste their way through international and local meats, accompaniments (pickled items, chocolates, coffees, etc) and cheeses while pairing them with wine, beer, and cider. The festival takes place at the historic RoundHouse in Yaletown. All attendees will be given a small charcuterie board upon entry that will allow for samples to be placed on the board while vendors describe the item being showcased.

Hester Creek Garlic Festival

On September 30 head to Hester Creek Estate Winery for local garlic growers, artisan crafters, food carts, live entertainment, and more. This family friendly event is in support of the Oliver Elementary School Farm to Table lunch program. Admission is by donation to the program and the festival runs from 11 am to 5 pm, and there’s live music all day.

Oliver Cask & Keg Festival

Cask and Keg is an outdoor, evening event focused on celebrating the creations from local distilleries, breweries and cideries. This fun, relaxed evening will be filled with live entertainment provided by The Big Easy Funk Ensemble, tasty morsels created by a variety of food trucks and locally made artisan wares on display by select vendors. All admission tickets include a souvenir glass and three tasting tickets.
