Photographer Turned Designer, Drew Williams Brings Fluidity and Innovation to VFW
Drew William, a 23 year-old Edmonton born designer, got his start as a scholarship student at the Emily Carr University in Vancouver. While studying at London’s Central Saint Martins in 2006 he began experimenting with textiles and different cutting methods. These explorations into fashion created a new direction for Drew’s creativity.
The Drew William Fall/Winter 2009 collection will debut on Sunday, March 29 at 7pm. Described as ‘a reflection of fluid motion colliding with geometry’, the collection shows an innovative approach to conventional fashion methods and techniques that affirm a successful future for Drew William within Canadian and international markets. This press releases was provided to us by Vancouver Fashion Week organizers and promoters. For more information, be sure to check back with Vancity Buzz tomorrow as we will have the show schedule posted up. Next week look for us to highlight certain designers and what not.
Last season we provided excellent coverage of the shows and this season we hope to do the same. Look for profiles of designers and we’ll re-run our model profiles (since our readership has tripled since last fashion week).
