Vancouver Extends Patio Hours

DH Vancouver Staff Feb 19, 2014 4:13 pm

Vancouver city council has voted to support extended patio hours for the city from April to October, 2014.

Patios closing early, especially in the spring/summer months, was a complaint that many Vancouver area residents shared.

Last year a pilot program to extend patio hours was introduced late in the summer to allow for extended patio hours. That program did not take full advantage of Vancouver’s warmest months.

However, this new pilot program, will allow patron and business owners to take full advantage of a Vancouver summer.

Under the new pilot program, any business with no complaints, from the previous extension program, will be allowed to keep patios open for an additional hour.

There are almost 600 patios in the City of Vancouver. Despite early concerns about noise into the late night, there were no formal complaints made to the city.
