What: A celebration of the unique cultural diversities of Indigenous Communities, through the engagement and inclusion of Local Land Based Nations and local service providers. A free community barbeque will take place from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm along with several traditional cultural activities and performances combined with outreach and engagement from a variety of service providers working with the Urban Indigenous population in Surrey.
What: I Am Not A Girl is the story of Erica, born into a large family in the 1970’s who questions who she is, including her gender. The journey of self-discovery takes her through a world of drugs, lesbian encounters, failed relationships, and finally the revelation that Erica can transition to become fully male. With this promise and the incredible loving support of her Mother, Erica faces the gauntlet of the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual challenges of becoming Eric.
