International Day Against Racism & Bigotry March

  • What: Witness and be a part of a march against all forms of racism, bigotry, and oppression in Metro Vancouver, taking place later this month. The rally is being held as part of the United Nations’ (UN) International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which was made as a proclamation by the UN back in 1966. All are welcome to attend.

48th Annual Happiness Dance

  • What: Every year, the Surrey Square Wheelers Square and Round Dance Club hosts a “happiness dance” as its main fundraiser for its perennial designated charity, The Centre for Child Development.

HMCS Discover Tours on Deadman’s Island 2018

  • What: HMCS Discovery, the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve unit located within Stanley Park, has a rich history within the city of Vancouver. Located on a small area called Deadman’s Island, it is off-limits to visitors. Off-limits that is, except for this Saturday, March 24, when HMCS will host a free open house for the public, between 10 and 3 pm.

Walk Richmond – Hugh Boyd Park

Ready Player One Vancouver Takeover

  • What: In celebration of Steven Spielberg’s new movie “Ready Player One,” a massive downtown Vancouver takeover will go down at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The transformation will allow visitors to step inside the film and enter “the Oasis,” showcasing the stage of Spielberg’s new movie. The exhibit takes place at the stackable housing apartments and will show off 25 ft. tall artwork, massive lights, and special effects, as well as actors dressed in the part of the movie. The inside of the exhibit will continue to amaze with eye-catching special effects, VR demos, a retro arcade, and chances to win film-related prizes.

UBC HOLI Festival 2018

  • What: The highly anticipated festival is celebrating equality with colours and UBC’s Indian Students Association wants you to be a part of it. Come to the event dressed in all white and be prepared to have a ton of fun. The event will feature an Indian food truck so you can enjoy the aromas and flavourful food on offer, and acclaimed Bollywood music maker, Khanvict from Decibel Entertainment will be spinning his favourite tracks throughout the day to celebrate Holi and keep you dancing.

Let’s Hear It! Live – Vancouver

  • What: “Let’s Hear It! Live – Vancouver” will showcase various artists from different music scenes across the province. The festival will take place in the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery, and includes The Funk Hunters, Desi Subculture, Peach Pit, MusiCounts StarBand with Dear Rouge, and many more acts.
