Vaisakhi Day Parade

  • What: Everyone is welcome at the annual Vaisakhi Day Parade, featuring cultural floats, community performers and live music. To pay tribute to the harvest celebration roots of the parade, attendees are given free food and drink from hundreds of local residents and businesses.
  • When: Saturday, April 21, 2018
  • Time: 9 am to 6 pm

2018 Earth Day Parade & Festival

  • What: The 8th annual Earth Day Parade begins at Grandview Highway and Commercial Drive, and marches its way down to Grandview Park where the festivities begin. The festival features a Kids Zone, scavenger hunts, smoothie bike demonstrations and more.

  • Time: Parade at 1 pm, Celebration at 1:30 pm

The Beaches

  • What: Canadian alt-rock band The Beaches bring the Late Show Tour to VENUE with guest Taylor Knox.

Rotary International Food Festival 2018

  • What: The sixth annual event features food from the Caribbean, India, China, Mexico, Greece, Italy, and Japan. Culinary delights are prepared in partnership with members of the Rotary Club of Burnaby and students of the ACE-IT training program. All foods will be prepared by ACE-IT students, under the supervision of the Chef Stephen Wade.

The Gateway Show

  • What: Stand-up comedians take to the stage and tell their best jokes, then go to an undisclosed location to get way too high, then come back to the stage and attempt to tell more jokes completely baked. Hosted by Erin Ingle, and featuring Ivan Decker, Fatima Dhowre, Myles Weber (MTV, Popular Science, and Sophie Buddle.

Nine Dragons

  • What: A stylish murder mystery set in 1920s colonial Hong Kong. Nine Dragons is a compelling exploration of race and prejudice in a colonial society. On the surface, Tommy Lam is obsessed with tracking down a killer in his native Kowloon. In immersing himself in the opulent and lurid world of Victor Fung, however, Tommy finds himself investigating the mystery of his own identity.

Earth Day at Hamilton Community Centre

  • What: Assemble a team from your organization, invite their families and help clean up the neighbourhood.The event includes crafts with Explore a Green World, junk disposal by donation, refreshments, and prizes. Participants will be entered to win a $50 City of Richmond recreation gift card.

Collected Traces and Still Here Co. ERASGA

  • What: Co. ERASGA’s newest ensemble creation recalls and traces the transcendent principle of the body’s relationship to indigenous traditional arts. Choreographed by critically acclaimed Vancouver choreographer Alvin Erasga Tolentino, Collected Traces and Still Here features seven outstanding dancers from Vancouver and Manila.
