Memoir, Marriage, Motherhood and Mountains: Angie Abdou and Jan Redford

  • What: Hal Wake leads Jan Redford, End of the Rope, and Angie Abdou, Home Ice, in a frank conversation about the pleasures and pitfalls of life writing. The two authors discuss the tricky balance between sharing enough but not too much, and arriving at far-reaching truths about contemporary life.

Minding the Gap

  • What: A hit at DOXA earlier this year, Minding the Gap has been described as “the Boyhood of skate videos.” For years, Bing Liu filmed his friends Zack and Keire on their boards, performing stunts. sometimes falling flat on their faces, on the streets and parking lots of impoverished Rust Belt town Rockford, Illinois. Then something strange happened, they grew up.

AQUA Rewind Tour

  • What: On their first-ever Canadian tour titled The Rewind Tour, the 90s pop group will be performing a concert at the Abbotsford Centre. Joining the ‘Barbie Girl’ singers on tour for the ultimate throwback concert will be Canadian favourites Prozzäk and ‘Saturday Night’ hitmaker Whigfield.

22nd Annual MS Golf Challenge

  • What: Join the MS Society of Canada at the 2018 MS Golf Challenge and help end MS. The event boasts two formats – a traditional 18-hole tournament, and the Dawn until Dusk Challenge with all golfers working towards a common goal: to help end MS. Includes wrap up dinner, silent auction, raffle, prizes and awards for the day’s golfers, plus entertainment and inspiring speakers who will share their first-hand experiences with MS, and the impact that the MS Golf Challenge has in the fight to end MS.
