80-year-old woman dies of injuries after weekend collision in East Vancouver

An 80-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle in Vancouver this past weekend has succumbed to her injuries, police announced on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Sunday, when the woman was struck by a van while crossing the street in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of East 12th Avenue and Commercial Drive.

Police said the driver of the van has cooperated with Vancouver Police Collision investigators, regarding this incident.

The incident marks Vancouver’s ninth traffic fatality of the year. Out of those, four have been pedestrian-involved.
