Fall is an incredibly romantic and beautiful time of year in Vancouver.

Now that it’s getting chilly outside, we want to get cozy and intimate – but we also want to get outside and soak in the changing leaves and gorgeous scenery.

Until October 9, Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza has been transformed into a mini Oktoberfest called Harvest Haus. At this fun and lively festival, you and your date can enjoy popular German foods such as sausages and sauerkraut, German pizza, German soups and Artisan bake shops. You’ll also be offered a fine selection of European biers to sample while you enjoy an authentic European performance or two.

The Stanley Park Ghost Train is running until October 31, except for October 10 which is an off-day due to Thanksgiving. With a theme of Halloween and ghostly tales, you’ll be thrilled and chilled while you ride the train and witness spooky sounds, lit-up displays and live performances. Wear warm clothing and cuddle up to your date on the train. Afterwards, you and your date can enjoy some hot chocolate and caramel apples in the spooky barn.

7. Vancouver Food Tour in Gastown

The best way to explore Gastown is to book a Vancouver Food Tour. 8. Star theatre at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre’s Planetarium

The Space Centre’s planetarium is an ultra-romantic date night location. You and your date get to snuggle up to each other and lay back in the dark while the bright stars shine and dance directly above you, and music echoes throughout the dome-shaped theatre.

Planetarium shows take place at 7:30 pm and 9 pm on Saturday nights. From October 16 – November 30, the 7:30 pm featured show is Seven Wonders and the 9 pm show is The Dark Matter Mystery.

9. Corn maze and pumpkin patch at Bose Farms

At Bose Farms in Surrey, you can participate in a daytime or nighttime corn maze. The nighttime maze is a great date idea because it’s romantic under the moonlight and afterwards, there’s a fire pit set up for you and your date to roast marshmallows by the fire. On weekends (until October 16) you can also get a free hay ride from the Bose Corn Maze to the Bose Pumpkin Patch.

A cozy date-night-in has to be on our list, because it’s a great rainy-day date idea. Especially if it’s themed. If you want to organize the best date-night-in ever, make pizza or pasta, grab a couple bottles of red wine, watch The Italian Job and have yourself a little Italian-themed date night in the comfort of your own home. Or, you can have a little Halloween night in and carve the pumpkins you just got at Bose Farms, watch scary movies and decorate Halloween-shaped cookies.

Fright Nights at the PNE is open on select nights until October 31 and features seven haunted houses, 15 rides and a couple thrilling live shows. There are spooky themed rides, extravagant haunted houses and plenty of terrifying actors dressed in creepy costumes who roam the park all evening as ‘murderers on the loose.’
