Vancouver Pride with Queer As Funk

  • What: Celebrate Pride with Queer as Funk, renowned for its tight rhythm section, hot horns, and killer vocals. Queer As Funk’s resident DJ, Slade Macdoog will be spinning tunes pre-show, and bringing the funk with the rest of the band.

Vines Art Festival 2018

  • What: The fourth-annual multidisciplinary eco-arts celebration, Vines Art Festival, will be taking place at various parks throughout Vancouver. More than 70 performing and visual artists are set to perform, including Kimmortal (a diasporic first generation settler-based on unsurrendered Coast Salish Territories), Katie Cassady (dancer and choreographer from TWObigsteps Collective & Donald Sales/Project 20), Rabbit Richards (a New York-born, Montreal-bred, performance poet), and musicians an̓usáyum̓ (two Indigenous artists from the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation, singing their own contemporary western music and Coast Salish traditional singing).

Vancouver Mural Festival Park Show

  • What: Organizers of Vancouver Mural Festival have partnered with Live Nation Canada to stage a major outdoor ‘Celebration Concert’ event dubbed The Park Show, on the festival’s final day. Featuring A Tribe Called Red, Charlotte Day Wilson, and guests.

Burnaby Roots & Blues Festival 2018

  • What: Mixing folk and Americana to rock & roll and vintage rhythm & blues, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats headline this year’s performance. The family-friendly festival will also feature performances by The Rural Alberta Advantage, Nikki Lane, The Suffers, Begonia, and Amythyst Kiah.

  • What: The former White Stripes frontman will be taking to the stage at Rogers Arena on August 12 as part of his Boarding House Reach world tour. Boarding House Reach is White’s third solo album.

Fair at the PNE 2018 Concerts

  • What: PNE Fairgoers will enjoy sensational performances this year including Pop, Rock, Country, and R&B as well as throwback 80s and 90s concerts. The Summer Night Concerts will run every evening that the Fair is open, starting on Saturday, August 18 in the PNE Amphitheatre.
  • When: Saturday, August 18 to Monday, September 3, 2018 (closed August 20 and 27)
  • Time: Nightly at 8:30 pm
  • Where: The Fair at the PNE – 2901 East Hastings Street, Vancouver
  • Admission: Each concert is free with gate admission to the fairgrounds. However, music fans looking for a more optimal viewing experience of the concerts can acquire reserved seats starting at $20.

Powerglove with Runaway Four and 20Six Hundred

  • What: TV game metal legends Powerglove will be playing classic Nintendo tunes with a metal spin on it. Featuring special guests Runaway Four and 20Six Hundred.
