With a prolonged teachers’ strike expected to begin tomorrow, some parents might be struggling to find alternative daytime activities and care for their children.

The Vancouver Park Board has announced that its community centres and other facilities will be responding to the demand for childcare by opening daycamps from June 16 to 20 with indoor and outdoor play.

The 12 locations to offer such programs this week are the following;

  • Britannia
  • Coal Harbour
  • Creekside
  • Dunbar
  • False Creek
  • Hastings
  • Kensington
  • Kerrisdale
  • Renfrew
  • Sunset
  • Trout Lake
  • West End
