July is here and Vancouver is filled with hilarious comedy, including stand-up, improv and Canada Day shows! Here is our checklist of five comedy events happening around the city from June 30 to July 5.

Chris Gordon

  • What: In his first year of comedy, Chris hit the airwaves nationally as he was selected as the “#1 Pick in the Country” on CBC’s So You Think You’re Funny?. Chris Gordon’s originality continues to make an impact: from his break out performances at the Just For Laughs Festivals in Montreal and Toronto; the Seattle International Comedy Competition; Vancouver’s NorthWest Comedy Festival; being featured in the Toronto showcase of NBC’s Last Comic Standing; and at The Comedy Death Ray Show in Los Angeles.

Canada Laughs Across the Nation – Vancouver

  • What: Comedy Records and Sirius XM present a night of the country’s finest comedians as part of Canada’s 150th birthday coast-to-coast celebration. Onstage at Little Mountain Gallery on Canada’s birthday is John Cullen, Chris James, Sophie Buddle, Chris Griffin, and Maddy Kelly.

East Vancouver Improv League – High Octane Improv Comedy

  • What: Come witness a high-octane battle between two supergroups made up of Instant Theatre improvisers. The EVIL Games is hosted by Ese Atawo and Geoffrey Walter.

Yuk Off Comedy Competition 2017

  • What: 108 comics battle for thousands in cash prizes. Preliminary rounds winners are decided by audience votes, so cheer on your favourites.

Ron Funches: Funch-A-Mania
