Vancouver has an exciting cocktail scene, and the city is full of great drinks, drink-makers, and places to drink. Here are a few things going on right now of note.
Change is in the air at CinCin. The Robson Street Italian restaurant is almost ready to celebrate their impressive 25th anniversary this fall, but in the meantime they have brought on a new Bar Manager. Behind the stick is the internationally-acclaimed David Wolowidnyk and his cheers-worthy menu of classic and modern cocktails. Belly up to the bar here for a spot-on Negroni, a cool and sweet Sgroppino, and inventive drinks like the Five Spice Sour.

It’s back! Yaletown’s Bar None has undergone some changes, and is ready to rev up the Vancouver nightlife scene with a hint of Los Angeles chic. Bar None’s had an interior makeover, and will now feature exciting cocktails by beverage director Trevor Kallies, as well as a Hapa Izakaya sushi and sake bar. Bar None’s Grand Opening event is happening Thursday, June 25.

CinCin’s win of Wolwidnyk left room at West’s bar for Sabrine Dhaliwal, who recently became its Bar Manager. Dhaliwal has just taken the win in Belvedere Vodka’s “The Challenge,” an international contest for Martini cocktails, held in London. The contest found Dhaliwal assembling a James Bond-themed drink using mystery ingredients, a second Bond-inspired drink, and a cocktail pairing for a dinner created by a celeb chef. This summer, Vancouverites can sip Dhaliwal’s winning libations at West.

There’s a new Bar Manager getting the summer shaking at Cafe Medina. Trixie Blümel has come up with a new bar sheet showcasing the restaurant’s Moroccan and Spanish influences. Using handmade syrups and infusions, distinctive garnishes and fresh-squeezed juices, the new cocktail menu boasts modern riffs on familiar classics. Hit up Cafe Medina from 2 to 3 p.m. for their Golden Hour Happy Hour, featuring specials on food and drink.
