One of Vancouver’s most beloved annual traditions, the Vancouver Chinese New Year Parade, returns on Sunday, February 14.

This year’s parade features over 3,000 participants including city organizations, benevolent associations, marching bands, the Vancouver Police Department Motorcycle Drill Team, multicultural dance groups, and the largest gathering of lion dance teams in Canada,

The parade starts at the historic Millennium Gate on East Pender Street, and winds through Chinatown, drawing over 100,000 visitors every year.

Following the parade, Lion Dances will take places at various locations throughout Chinatown – a tradition designed to bring luck and prosperity to the neighbourhood and its residents.
