Summer time in Chinatown is the perfect time for locals and tourists alike to check out one of the oldest and largest Chinatowns in the world. Further, the recent resurgence of the neighbourhood makes for a far more pleasant experience, however, the urban grit and charm remains the same. As a bonus you many run into the new Chinatown mascot (did they even pick a winner yet?) or local YouTube sensation Peter Chao looking for his long lost father. Oh and of course there is a lot to shop around for and tempt your taste buds with.
The Chinatown street market contains booths with different merchandises on sale including creative gifts and decors, electronics, clothes (designer, real or not you be the judge), CD and DVD’s galore, plus lots to snack on while peruse the shopping booths.
Shopping isn’t the only attraction of the Vancouver Chinatown Night Market, market goers can enjoy the multicultural performances: Folk dancing, singing, magic shows, martial arts, lion dance, bands… as well as games and prizes.
Spend the summer nights at the Chinatown Night Market – the first of its kind in North America!
