After weeks of recipe creation, submissions and votes, the top three chili recipes in Vancouver (as determined by fellow Vancouverites) have been chosen to compete in this year’s third annual Zantac Chili Challenge.
The three winning recipes will be prepared live at a chili cook-off hosted by celeb chef Anthony Sedlak at the Dirty Apron Cooking School at 540 Beatty Street on January 20th. The Vancouver finalist will then move to the nationals in Toronto this February, where they will go head-to-head with two-year reigning chili champ Mike Callaghan. Finalists will also get the chance to win a trip to the Mayan Riviera and own the official title of Best Chili in Canada.
If you are interested in sampling some of the recipes yourself, come on out to the Dirty Apron Cooking School (http://www.dirtyapron.com) on January 20th between 12:00-2:00pm. You’ll also have the opportunity to speak with Anthony Sedlak on the finer points of chili creation and how to develop a winning taste combination.
You can also take a sneak peek at some of the recipes online here: www.chilichallenge.ca.
