Long weekends call for slow mornings, good company and comforting food. Find all of the above at these five local eateries for $10 or less.

Chow down on the whole package: an avocado and slow poached egg brioche sandwich with a drip coffee for $8.75, or try something lighter like the rolled oat & chia bircher muesli for $5.

Yolks Breakfast

Known for their perfectly poached eggs, grab one with your choice of double smoked bacon, hand carved maple ham, portobello mushroom, or fresh avocado for $7.50. Looking to go egg-free? Just ask for their $5.50 Honey Toasted Granola.

Fill up on three buttermilk pancakes with your choice of bacon or sausage or try their Frittata that features goat cheese, caramelized onion, basil, home fries and toast. With both meals ringing in at $10, you simply can’t go wrong.

The Wallflower

A place where omnivores, carnivores, vegan, vegetarian, and celiacs can all dine together in comfort. Stick to a $10 budget and order the Mc’Nuffin (veggie sausage, fried polenta, vegan cheddar, english muffin, hash browns) or a Breaky sandwich (eggs, cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, hash browns and marble rye).

Jackalope’s Neighbourhood Dive

With two eggs and roasted root veggies, house made bacon, sausage, or pulled pork, and cornbread and marbled rye, the Campfire Skillet is a steal at $7.99.  Their Sweet, Sweet Waffles for $7.99 served with fruit, whipped cream and maple syrup are equally as filling and never disappoint.
