Vancouver Cheap Eats: Festive Sweet Treats

DH Vancouver Staff Dec 20, 2013 9:12 am

With just a few days left until the 25th, there’s only a limited time to indulge in these festive sweet treats under $5.  From eggnog ice cream to gluten-free minced meat pie, here are a few of Vancity Buzz and Chowmenow’s joyfully sinful desserts.

Maxi’s Deli

At Max’s there are plenty of holiday desserts to choose from that are under $5, like shortbread, snow balls, rum balls, and stollen. While they won’t disappoint, you can’t pass up the eggnog cheesecake for $4.79.

The Last Crumb Bakery and Café

Don’t let a gluten allergy prevent you from chowing down on excess calories and sugar this season. To partake in classic desserts, head to the Last Crumb Bakery for their $2.95 gluten-free Mayan Spice cookies or the Festive Sugar Cookies for $2.50.

French Made Baking

With a few festive macaron flavours to choose from, our favourites are the eggnog and mint dark chocolate for $2.

Rain or Shine Ice Cream

All weather is the perfect weather for ice cream, especially when you can order eggnog and candy cane for $4.

Lemonade Gluten-Free Bakery

Minced meat and pecan tarts are not only gluten-free, but egg-free! They’re also just under our budget at $4.50.
