Vancouver temperature record broken on warm October Sunday

Vancouver and other areas in southern British Columbia broke numerous temperature records yesterday. The temperature at YVR Vancouver International Airport reached 21.6 degrees celsius, the previous record of 18.9 degrees dates back to 1940.

Temperatures are expected to remain above-normal for the next couple of days, and you won’t hear Vancouverites complaining.

Here are the temperature records broken across Metro Vancouver:

  • Vancouver – 21.6, previous record 18.9 recorded in 1940
  • White Rock – 22, previous record 21 recorded in 1978
  • Abbotsford – 22.5, previous record 21.6 recorded in 1987
  • Pitt Meadows – 22, previous record 21 recroded in 1978
