Vancouver remains one of the world's best cities for food trucks

We’re giving Instagram more attention than Twitter these days, and we might get more excited about kombucha than cold brew, but we still love our mobile eateries, and Vancouver remains one of the world’s best spots for food trucks.

The accolade of sorts comes from a Vogue piece that rounds up the best on the global food on wheels scene–minus the USA, where the food truck trend really got rolling.

While it’s not a numbered list, Vancouver does take the top spot (perhaps thanks to the article’s Vancouver-based scribe), earning nods for how well food truck lovers can balance holding an umbrella and a Tacofino fish taco.

Vogue gives praise in their Vancouver blurb not only Tacofino, but also Vij’s Railway Express for the best plate of curry (presumably the best plate of curry from a food truck, that is), along with the mobile outposts of Earnest Ice Cream, Culver City Salads or The Juice Truck.

All told, the shoutouts seem focused on Vancouver’s food truck vets, though there are a couple of newcomers on the streets like Holi Masala and Chickpea that are worth hunting down, with more new ones rolling out every season.

If you’re keen to globetrot your way to a fresh food truck scene, Vogue’s list includes Dubai, Copenhagen, Mexico City, and Berlin as worthy destinations.
