Amazon.ca has named Vancouver the number one city in Canada for reading. The data is based on book sales across the country in both print and Kindle formats from April of 2014 to April of 2015.

Not only did we rank number one overall, but we also ranked number one in cooking, travel, self-help, business and health book purchases.

Healthy eating is top priority on the West Coast, with “The Oh She Glows Cookbook” nearing the top.

The data is based on cities with populations of 100,000 or more. The top twenty cities for reading in Canada are:

  1. Vancouver, British Columbia
  2. Calgary, Alberta
  3. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  4. Edmonton, Alberta
  5. Regina, Saskatchewan
  6. London, Ontario
  7. Toronto, Ontario
  8. Kitchener, Ontario
  9. Ottawa, Ontario
  10. Winnipeg, Manitoba
  11. Burnaby, British Columbia
  12. Mississauga, Ontario
