The BC Day long weekend is here and the weather is expected to be absolutely beautiful. Many will pack their bags and head out elsewhere for the long weekend but for those that stay they will experience Vancouver at its summer best. Here are a list of things for you to do this long weekend. Be sure to also check out our August Vancouver Social Calendar.

1. Honda Celebration of Light Finale: Vietnam and Brazil put on quite the show. Lets see what Italy has in store.

2. Powell Street Festival: Canada’s largest Japanese festival takes place this weekend in a neighbourhood that was once referred to as Japantown.

3. Veg Fest: Vegans and Vegetarians rejoice in this annual celebration of veggie goodness.

4. Free Outdoor Movies in the Park (Metro Vancouver Listings)

5. Night Markets. Check out the night market at The River Rock or the one behind Home Depot. You can also check out the Vancouver Chinatown Market.

6. Vancouver Pride Parade and Festival. One of the largest pride parades in the world takes place Sunday August 5, 2012.
