For those looking to spend some quality time together in a different sort of way this Christmas season, the Vancouver Aquarium is the place to be.

While many enjoy the Aquarium’s offerings on a daily basis, a special night-time experience is being offered in the form of a family sleepover.

Taking place on Saturday, December 30, the sleepover runs from 9 pm until 9 am the next morning.

Tickets to the night out are $115/person, or $92 for members and include a night-time snack as well as a light breakfast the next morning.

The sleepover itself takes place in the underwater viewing gallery of the Steller’s Bay Steller Sea Lion exhibit.

Registration for the event closes on December 20 and participants are reminded that they are required to bring their own sleeping gear, including pillow, sleeping bag, and toiletries. While washrooms are available, there are no showers.

Additionally, due to WorkSafe regulations, no flip-flops or open-toed shoes are allowed.

So gather your family and get ready for an aquatic experience where – at least in this case – “sleeping with the fishes” is a good thing.
