YVR Chill Out is back with free concerts, food trucks, and flight giveaways

Summer in Vancouver is all about those outdoor events, and they’re even better when they’re free and offer a chance to win some sweet giveaways.

On Saturday, August 18, you can round up your favourite people and head to the third annual YVR Chill Out taking place at Larry Berg Flight Path Park in Richmond. 

YVR will be joined by community partners to bring you a day of free fun for all ages. In 2017, the event attracted over 3,500 attendees and this year it’s set to be even bigger with a stellar lineup.

Entertainment at the event kicks off with music from Marine Drive, Trilojay, and Mariachi Del Sol.

You can tantalize your taste buds with food trucks featuring cuisine from all around the world, and take part in games like giant Jenga and bola ball all afternoon long.

There’s also going to be culturally-diverse arts and crafts, face painting and glitter tattoos for the kids, as well as a performance from yo-yo phenom Harrison Lee. Plus, you’ll get to watch on as Wes the Magician from America’s Got Talent takes the stage for an unforgettable show.

While you’re there, don’t forget to enter YVR’s #getpacking contest for your chance to win two round-trip flights to an incredible destination.

YVR is a not-for-profit organization which donates over $1 million annually to community organizations across the Lower Mainland. You can find out more about some of these organizations by visiting the interactive booths hosted by YVR’s valued community partners at the event.

When you visit the community partner booths, you can take part in the YVR Chill Out passport challenge to win free YVR swag.

Getting to and from YVR Chill Out will be super convenient, no matter how you do it: Not only will there be free parking at the BCIT Aerospace campus, but there will be frequent shuttles from the Templeton Canada Line station as well as free bike parking courtesy of the Bicycle Valet.
