VanConnect app lets you report potholes, abandoned garbage, and more

Living in a big city makes you feel like your voice is just one of thousands, without a chance to be heard.

But that’s not the case anymore.

To combat this, the City of Vancouver has created a free mobile application called VanConnect. It helps you stay connected with the City and your neighbours, allowing you to report incidents and get updates – 24/7.

Available on  iTunesAndroid, and Blackberry devices, VanConnect is the ultimate tool for you to connect with the city on the go.

The application is super easy and fast to use. And to help you see why it’s one you should have on your phone, we’ve compiled a list of benefits you’ll enjoy when using VanConnect on your phone.

You can directly report issues

When you see a pothole that looks like it could be hazardous for drivers, if a sign is broken or needs to be replaced on your commute, or if there are street lights that aren’t working in your area, you can report them right through VanConnect with the tap of your finger. Once you do this, you’ll be able to log a service request so the item can be fixed.

Photo feature

Explaining the severity of issues in text form means that communication can often be misinterpreted. VanConnect has a feature which allows you to take a photo of the broken street light, potholes, or incidents in your area. The app also auto detects your location to find out exactly where the issue is.

Location services

You can locate the nearest park, community centre, and more in your area using VanConnect thanks to its location feature.

Anytime access

If you see graffiti on a building you can log the complaint on VanConnect right away. The beauty of the application means that you can submit requests 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

News and updates

Once you have VanConnect, you can sign up to receive news, updates, and emergency information. Having quick links to emergency updates and road closures means you’ll be able to avoid delays if there are city crews working in your area.

Support your community

By adding service requests to VanConnect, you’ll be helping both Vancouver City Hall and your community as all of the data you submit is transparent and others can see what you have posted. This way, you can work together to help make your community a better place.

So, now that you see all of the benefits that come with using VanConnect, you can download the application and try it out for yourself.
