Vancity Buzz is teaming up with Elements Academy of Martial Arts to host a free women’s self-defence class this coming Sunday, April 3, and you’re invited to take part.
If you want to learn maneuvers that could help you to immobilize or subdue an aggressor while minimizing danger to yourself, you can sign up for one of three one-hour classes on Sunday at noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.
Strength isn’t the key point – skill is what matters. Various scenarios will be simulated by qualified female instructors that include being grabbed from behind, take-downs, and chokes from both standing and ground positions.
Nobody should have to feel unsafe. If you want to learn some defensive maneuvers, take advantage of this opportunity and sign up for one of these free classes. Space is very limited, as each time slot can only accommodate 16 people, so sign up today.
