Vancouver's Urthecast named fastest growing tech company in Canada
Deloitte announced the winners of its Fast 50 program on Wednesday and two Vancouver companies have topped the list of the fastest growing tech companies in Canada.
The Fast 50 program highlights companies that are growing fast and value diversity in Canada. This year, Vancouver’s UrtheCast was ranked first on the Fast 50 list.
UrtheCast serves the rapidly evolving geospatial and geoanalytics markets – and had revenue growth of 72,938% between 2012 and 2015.
Meanwhile, another Vancouver company, Cooledge Lighting Inc., came in second place. The company specializes in delivering innovating lighting solutions, and has seen growth of 16,966% between 2012 and 2015.
Thirty-one companies on this year’s Technology Fast 50 program are first-time winners. Ontario had the most winners with 26 companies on the list, while BC saw 12 companies featured this year.
“Technology Fast 50 winners are just the kind of companies we need in order to compete on a global basis and grow more prosperous as a nation,” said Anders McKenzie, of Deloitte, in a release.
“They push the boundaries of innovation and make investments to bring new products and services to market. These are bold companies that pursue growth aggressively and are rewarded with increased revenues.”
