Unlicensed Vancouver teen driver destroys Porsche Cayenne in hit-and-run (VIDEO)

There’s more to the Porsche story than meets the eye.

After a video surfaced depicting a driver trying (unsuccessfully) to park a Porsche Cayenne in a Vancouver laneway garage – badly damaging it in the process – we contacted the VPD to get further details.

As it turns out, the pricey SUV was involved in a hit-and-run with a parked car on June 16, and to make matters worse it was driven by an unlicensed 16-year-old who had taken his mother’s car for a spin while she was out of town.

Constable Brian Montague tells Daily Hive they received reports of a hit-and-run on 32nd Avenue between Oak and Granville Streets, and then received this video two days later.

“Obviously very easy once we got the video, made it much quicker for investigators to connect all the dots,” he says. “We have located the home, the vehicle, and identified the driver.”

Montague says the teen is being charged with several motor vehicle act violations – he would have just been charged with Driving Without a License, a $276 fine, but since he fled the scene, there are multiple charges being laid.

“That’s most likely the reason he fled,” says Montague in reference to his lack of a driver’s license. “He made a poor decision.”

He adds that nobody was injured in the incident.

Between the extensive damage to the luxury SUV, the other vehicle, and the garage, Montague estimates costs could be in the tens of thousands of dollars. Suffice to say, he’s probably grounded.

The teen’s attempt to hide the vehicle in the garage was caught on video and is truly cringe-worthy. Watch it above.
