These are all the under 40 candidates elected in the Lower Mainland

According to the Forum for Millennial Leadership, a total of 100 candidates under-40 ran in Saturday’s municipal elections in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD).

A total of 31 candidates under 40 were elected as mayors and councillors in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

According to FML, there were 26 under 40 candidates elected in Metro Vancouver. This is a significant increase from the 12 who were previously elected.

In the Fraser Valley, there were only five under-40 candidates elected. This is down from the six elected in the last municipal election.

In a poll conducted prior to the election, nearly 77% of British Columbians agreed that younger elected would help change their communities for the better.
