Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is the key anchor for the new Tsawwassen Mills mall, and not only is this the US-based chain’s first BC store, but it’s also the only one in Canada to feature the company’s restaurant, Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl & Grill.

Offering an underwater theme, 12 bowling lanes, a massive bar, a full menu of comfort classics and kid-friendly fare, private dining rooms, and just plain ol’ sit-down dining in general areas, Uncle Buck’s is indeed a feast for the eyes on its own.

The restaurant includes a street (parking lot) entrance, as well as an entrance from within the epic Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store.

On the menu are starters like an Onion Ring Trophy, Fried Pickles, and even an exclusive only-at-this-location dish, poutine (of course!). There are soups, salads, burgers, pizzas, and heartier mains, like fish and chips, fried shrimp, pulled pork mac and cheese, seafood pasta, and more. Other dishes unique to the Tsawwassen location are the Rib Tips and the Steak Melt.

On the bar menu, in addition to soft drinks, there are takes on classics like sangria and a Long Island Iced Tea, a Mai Tai, Le Fizz (Grey Goose Vodka, St. Germaine Elderflower, Lime Juice, Soda), and an Outdoorsman Manhattan (Makers Mark, Sweet Vermouth, Bitters, Brandied Cherries). As a fun bonus, they have a boozy “Fishbowl” for two, which is made with Smirnoff Vodka, Tanqueray Gin, Cruzan Light Rum, Island Oasis Sour, DeKuyper Blue Curacao, and Sprite–for $15 that’s a hefty drink for two people.

The bowling alley will be walk-in service, and they offer shoe rental. You can also hold kids’ birthday parties here, and reserve space. The bowling alley is a major draw for South Delta, since their local lanes have been closed for years, and Richmond’s The Zone has just shut down.

As part of a pre-opening tour of Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, we got the chance to peek in Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl & Grill as its in the final stages of prep for the store’s October 4 evening opening.
