Learn to defend yourself at UFC Gym's free seminar

Nov 26 2016, 1:34 am

The streets are dark, there are just a few people around, and you’re walking home from work.

If you’re a woman, you’ll have to be on your guard all the way home. And that’s why the new UFC Gym in Coquitlam is hosting a free self-defence seminar on December 3.

The seminar will introduce women a number of basic self-defence moves so they can protect themselves. Kicking and punching are included but the seminar will also go through more advanced skills, like how to defend yourself from different angles. It will also show you how to use an attacker’s weight and strength against them.

The seminar is taught by WEC champion Rob McCullough, who specializes in kicking and punching people in the face during his fights.

The gym is also holding another seminar for both men and women on the same day. This seminar, which runs between 1 and 3 pm, focuses on punches, kicks, and counter-strikes. You can sign up for these seminars when you register as a UFC Gym member. For a short time, you can get a free pass for the gym to try it out before you commit.

For more information on these seminars and other programs, visit UFC Gym online, or follow it on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
