Two males injured in New Westminster shooting

At approximately 12:30 a.m. this morning, the New Westminster Police received a 911 call of several shots fired in the area of 1st Street and Royal Avenue.

As members were heading to the area, a vehicle pulled up at the rear of the New Westminster Police Station.

The victim had driven himself to the police station. Two males were injured by the shots; at least one has a gun shot wound, while the second male has minor injuries. Both victims were transported by ambulance to a medical facility.

Royal Avenue and 1st Street were closed for some time but have now been opened up for traffic flow. The investigation continues and further details will follow.
