We’re taking a tasty tour of Vancouver’s many brunches to create The Ultimate Vancouver Brunch Guide. This week we’re tucking into fulfilling brunch time classics at Granville Street’s Twisted Fork Bistro.

Known for its casual vibe and reasonably priced daily brunch service, Twisted Fork Bistro is one of those Vancouver fixtures that every Vancouverite, as well as out-of-towner, has got to try at least once.

Situated amid the bars, nightclubs, and pizza by-the-slice joints on downtown’s Granville Street strip, Twisted Fork Bistro is a welcoming, cozy oasis, offering an array of long-established brunch favs, most of which are priced at $14.50 each.

Brunch goers will find a stack of enticing options to choose from, including a Fresh Fruit Salad, Scrambled Eggs, a Croque Monsieur, Veggie Hash with poached eggs, Spicy Pork Sausage Frittata, and a range of Eggs Benny plates, composed of toasted brioche, poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, and the choice of a protein or veggie filler.

Brunch purists will want to sink their teeth into the bistro’s Gruyere Baked Eggs. Cooked well done, the eggs come served in their own little dish, and are accompanied by two thick slices of freshly baked sourdough toast, crisp bacon, roasted tomatoes, potato rosti, and smoky baked beans.

Featured alongside the main brunch plates are a handful of add-ons, including Banana Bread, Fresh Fruit, and Asiago Scones, which can either be enjoyed at the start of the meal or as a supplement. Served warm with whipped butter and house-made jam, the crumbly Asiago Scones are a must order.

Twisted Fork’s infamous Banana Stuffed Brioche French Toast will appeal to anyone with a sweet tooth looking to satisfy their cravings. Dusted with cinnamon icing sugar, topped with a huge dollop of vanilla whipped cream, and served with a shot of maple syrup, this incredibly decadent meal is sure to hit the spot.

Diners can seal the deal with a range of “basic brunch sips,” including French press coffee, tea, juice, and a variety of mocktails. The bustling, red-walled eatery also offers a persuasive list of “hair of the dog” libations. Those searching for a hangover remedy can toss back a Twisted Mary (vodka, red wine, balsamic vinegar, tomato juice, and spices), or a Cerveza Float (larger, house-made lime sorbet, and Cazadores), just to name a few.
