On Tuesday, March 12, the Rio Theatre held a star-studded event to celebrate the premiere of The True Heroines web series. The sold-out crowd included a number of industry heavyweights, including producers, directors, dancers, actors, agents and an adoring public.
“The True Heroines sizzled at Advanced Screening.” – Heather McGee of the Huffington Post.
“Never have I seen such wild enthusiasm in a Vancouver theatre.” – Alfred DePew, Vancouver Observer.
“Vintage lingerie and right-now energy ruled when city-based Sociable Films presented a live cabaret and premiered several episodes of its 1950s-set True Heroines Internet-TV series on the Rio theatre’s stage and large screen recently. Whatever the digital universe holds for this series, getting the equally innovative cabaret on more stages and more often would be swell.” – Malcolm Parry, Vancouver Sun.
Following their highly successful launch at the Rio Theatre, The True Heroines will be debuting their web series to a worldwide audience on March 27. You can see the trailer here:
