The Vancouver Canucks’ very own Trevor Linden was cool enough to take the ALS ice bucket challenge.

Over the weekend, “Captain Canuck” proved he was up for the challenge to dump a bucket of ice on himself in the name of charity. As part of the viral challenge going around, Linden doused himself in chilly water (in his trunks!) to spread awareness about and raise funds to fight Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. If you don’t get the ice dumped on you within 24 hours of the challenge, you must donate $100 to an ALS organization.

The Canucks break down how the #icebucketchallenge first came to the Canucks, and who has been passing on the nominations.

While many people, particularly the famous folk, who take the ice bucket challenge end up donating in addition to getting soaked, it’s not clear if Linden opened his wallet, too. Linden challenged Pavel Bure, Markus Naslund, and Stan Smyl in his video, and so far two out of three have stepped up.
