In time for Canada Day: forecast calls for sunny week with hot temperatures

DH Vancouver Staff Jun 30, 2014 9:40 am

Wet weather put a damper on the last weekend of June, but a very strong high pressure system is set to bring back favourable outdoor conditions for at least the first week of July – just in time for Canada Day festivities.

Sunny weather returns today in Vancouver and will continue until at least next Sunday, although localized areas could see the odd thunderstorm pass through as a result of the conditions caused by rising warm air. Temperatures will reach 24°C on Canada Day and a peak of 25°C by Wednesday.

Elsewhere on the South Coast during Canada Day, temperatures will reach highs of 31°C in Abbotsford and Squamish and a balmy 32°C in Whistler.

Happy Canada Day!
