CBC’s ‘Dragons’ Den’ will undergo a change of face next season with the departure of Vikram Vij, Arlene Dickson and David Chilton.

The popular reality show where entreprenuers face the ‘Dragons’ to pitch their business idea in turn for investments will add three business legends to its roster in season 10. Manjit Minhas, co-founder and co-owner of Minhas Breweries and Distillery; Michele Romanow, co-founder of Buytopia.ca; and Joe Mimran, Canadian retail fashion mogul and Joe Fresh founder will join Michael Wekerle and Jim Treliving in the den.

The personality shift brings two young female venture capitalists to the panel once dominated by middle-aged men. Minhas, 34, and Romanow, 29, are the youngest Dragons ever to be part of the show and CBC hopes their addition will draw in younger audiences.

Minhas founded Alberta’s Minhas Breweries, now the 10th largest in the world, with her brother when she was only 19 years old. Romanow, a Queen’s alum, has built several business including the e-commerce site buytopia.ca. Her expertise brings a new level of digital and e-commerce knowledge to the Den.

Mimran, the 62 year-old founder of retail giant Joe Fresh, also developed brands including Club Monaco, Alfred Sung, Pink Tartan and Caban. His move onto ‘Dragons’ Den’ follows his recent departure from Joe Fresh.

‘Dragons’ Den’ begins shooting its 10th season in April.
