The weekend is finally here.  Enjoy whatever insanity Mother Nature has to throw at us this Valentine’s Day with a few of the events happening in Vancouver this weekend.

Saturday, February 13

Takao Tanabe – Sumie: Ink Paintings

  • What: A collection of Sumie, or ink paintings, from Japanese Canadian artist Takao Tanabe, exploring traditional Japanese subject matter and modernist abstraction.

Show of Hearts

  • What: The annual telethon from Variety—the Children’s Charity presents live performances by Charlie, 54-40, Aaron Pritchett, Five Alarm Funk, Sophie Simmons, Vancouver TheatreSports League, and many, many more.

Year of the Monkey Temple Fair

  • What: Celebrate the Year of the Monkey at Vancouver’s Chinese-style “scholar garden,” with games, activities, food, and music.

Cosmic Love Connections

  • What: Rose Marcus and Derek Rief take people and their loved ones through the year to come.
