Rope For Hope fundraising event 2017

  • What: Rope For Hope is an experience of a lifetime that allows you to rappel 36 storeys from the roof of the Hyatt Hotel in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. To participate, all you have to do is raise a minimum of $1,500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC and The Yukon. All proceeds raised from the event will support granting wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Indian Summer Festival 2017

  • What: The Indian Summer Arts Society organizes the Indian Summer Festival every July, to showcase provocative artists and visionaries from Canada, South Asia and beyond. The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Tales of War and Peace’, and includes an array of award-winning artists, musicians, and authors.

Summer Emerging Artists Exhibition

  • What: Canadian and international artists take the spotlight in the Beaumont Gallery’s Summer Emerging Artists Exhibition. The six artists being featured are Benjamin Brooks, Carling Wong-Renger, Ciele Beau, Donna Millar, Luan Nguyen and Ranu Chakraborty.
  • Where: The Beaumont Studios – 316 West 5th Avenue, Vancouver

Mixology and your Garden

  • What: Cole Benoit of The Apothecary Bitters Company will discuss botanicals you can grow in your home garden for cocktails, and ideas for using and preserving them for optimal flavour. Sample Cole’s own artisan cocktails made with locally distilled spirits and botanical ingredients, and learn home bar basics such as tools and techniques to get started. Ages 19+ only with valid government-issued photo ID.

Music By The River

  • What: The Arts Council of New Westminster and City to Suburb Real Estate Group are filling Westminster Pier Park with a wide variety of the arts, including live musical performance, two DJ stages, busking performances, artisan vendors, live painting, ribbon dancing, and more. Spend sunny summer evenings in the award-winning Pier Park enjoying the arts in a scenic setting next to the Fraser River.

Movie Under the Stars – The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

  • What: The UBC Astronomy Club and UBC Film Society present Movie Under The Stars: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Bring a blanket and sit back and relax at the Knoll outside The Nest for a night of solar scapes stargazing and movie watching.
