Labour Day long weekend events at Tsawwassen Mills

  • What: Unlike other shopping malls, you certainly won’t be bored at Tsawwassen Mills. There’s actually something for everyone including a massive indoor skatepark at West 49, an aquarium-inspired bowling alley at Uncle Buck’s, an indoor kids play area, and tons of dining options. And that means you could even end up visiting the mall more than one day this Labour Day long weekend.

Digitalistic: Bloghouse Revival Party

  • What: A dance party dedicated to the dynamic electronic dance scene of the early-to-mid 2000s with DJs Trevor Risk and Waspy, plus Phil David in the Projection Room.

Richmond World Festival

  • What: Featuring performances by over 75 artists on nine stages, including headliners Tokyo Police Club, Dragonette, and Verbal Jint. There will also be a digital carnival, an artisan marketplace, and over 50 food trucks to enjoy.

Dance In Transit

  • What: Dance in Transit by Sam’s Dance provides free outdoor dance events around Downtown Vancouver during the summer. Young or old, shy or outgoing, new or longtime dancers – everyone is welcome.

  • Where: Robson Square, Jim Deva Plaza, Queen Elizabeth Plaza, and Plaza of Nations

Miss Wheelchair

  • What: This free event aims to break barriers and boost integration by showing that wheelchairs and disabilities are not a limitation. If you’re interested in participating as a contestant simply fill out a registration form. The event also aims to change the image surrounding women with disability and show that everyone is beautiful. On the evening, the audience will be invited to participate in voting for their favourite contestant who shines the most beautifully inside and out.

First Caturday

  • What: First Caturday is the day for sweet and delicious outdoor cat-napping and socializing. Bring your cat (on a leash, or harness) and socialize with other feline lovers and their furry friends.

Tuesdays with Morrie – Gateway Theatre

  • What: Tuesdays with Morrie is one half of two plays from Hong Kong that are part of Gateway Theatre’s Pacific Festival. This production is the Cantonese translation of the Off Broadway play, specifically tailored to resonate with Chinese audiences. The relationship between a career-driven journalist and his declining former college professor is at the forefront of the show. The play will be performed in Cantonese with Chinese and English subtitles.

Nomadic Tempest Tall Ship Circus Show Vancouver 2017

  • What: Nomadic Tempest is a travelling nighttime acrobatic show synchronized to music and digital video projections by BC-based Caravan Stage Company. The free, all-ages spectacle takes place onboard the Amara Zee, the world’s only tall ship that doubles as a stage and backdrop for live performances.

  • What: This summer, if you love the power couple of beer and brunch, Sundays at the PNE is where you need to be. That’s because for 2017 Craft Beer Fest is adding a Sunday long-table brunch with beer pairings for thirsty fans. It includes a Fair Gate Pass, reserved seating at one of three long tables, a four course brunch and four beer samples.
