It might be Monday, but there’s no reason to pout. Here are five things to do in Vancouver on Monday, August 29.

B-Roll: Kill Bill

  • What: The first edition of Vancouver’s newest monthly drag event, retelling your favourite movies and TV shows, brings you Quentin Tarantino’s roaring rampage of revenge.
  • Where: The Penthouse Night Club – 1019 Seymour Street, Vancouver
  • When: Monday, August 29, from 9 pm to 2 am
  • Tickets: On Eventbrite, $10-$15

Rodriguez

  • What: This legendary US singer-songwriter was forgotten by the world and thought to be dead until Searching For Sugar Man filmmakers tracked him down. Now he’s playing Vancouver.
  • Where: Orpheum – 601 Smithe Street, Vancouver
  • When: Monday, August 29, at 8 pm
  • Tickets: On Ticketmaster, $55-$99.50

Vancouver Canadians vs Salem-Keizer Volcanoes

  • What: Vancouver’s own minor league baseball team will face off against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes from Oregon every day this week, starting Monday.
  • Where: Nat Bailey Stadium – 4575 Clancy Loranger Way, Vancouver
  • When: Monday, August 29, at 7.05 pm
  • Tickets:  At milb.com, priced $14-$25

Salon Series: Acting Shakespeare

  • What: Some of Vancouver’s most celebrated theatre makers and industry professionals take you behind the scenes into their fascinating worlds, in a panel discussion exploring what it takes to bring Shakespeare from “the page to the stage.”
  • Where: Vanier Park – 1000 Chestnut St, Vancouver
  • When: Monday, August 29, at 7 pm
  • Tickets: From Bard On The Beach, $15 adults, $10 students

The Laugh Gallery

  • What: Vancouver comedian Graham Clark hosts one of the longest-running shows in town. The best part of the show may very well be the oddball audience prizes that Clark himself finds at flea markets and garage sales around the city.
  • Where: Havana Theatre – 1212 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
  • When: Monday, August 29, at 9 pm
  • Tickets: On Eventbrite, priced $5
