  • What: Featuring Caribbean rhythms to Celtic melodies, Surrey is celebrating Canada 150 with a series of free outdoor performances. Bring your folding chairs or blankets and join the fun.

Wild Wednesdays

  • What: Discover incredible natural surroundings and go at your own pace as you pick and choose from outdoor activities at Surrey Nature Centre. Bring a picnic to make an evening of your visit. Ages 13 and under require parent participation. Rain or shine.
  • When: Every Wednesday to September 13
  • Time: 5:30 to 7:30 pm

Outdoor Movie Nights in Cloverdale

  • What: Free outdoor movie nights in Cloverdale are back for the summer. Don’t forget your chairs, blankets and snacks. Films this year are Tangled (August 4), Shrek (August 11), Up (August 18), and Sing (August 25).
  • When: Every Friday until August 25
  • Time: Activities start at 8 pm, movies start at dusk

White Rock Sea Festival

  • What: The White Rock Sea Festival over the August long weekend is a summer tradition, that has been celebrating seaside fun for more than 60 years. A favourite of locals and visitors, there are live performances, a waterfront market, fireworks, torchlight parade, kids’ sandcastle competition and the crowning ceremony of Miss White Rock.

Movie Under The Stars

  • What: Grab a blanket and a friend and head down to Holland Park for Movies Under the Stars. The family-friendly event not only showcases a film weekly, but it also features activities, games and entertainment from local performers.  Films this year are Lego Batman (August 5), Sing (August 12), Moana (August 19), and Beauty and the Beast (August 26).

  • Time: Activities begin at 5 pm, movie starts at dusk

Rock With Me with Amrit Bains

  • What: Full of energy, fun loving singer songwriter Amrit Bains is returning to perform his new show Rock With Me. Amrit is a wizard at creating catchy tunes and meaningful lyrics. He will be accompanied by award-winning entertainer Paul Anthony. If you want to forget everything for a while and be part of a fun evening, this is the show for you.

Summer Art Gala

  • What: An evening of art, music, and hands-on activities featuring talented youth from Surrey. From singers and musicians to writers and visual artists, the gala will showcase an array of stunning artwork. Interact with these budding artists, take a tour through the art gallery, grab some food, and watch the artists perform live onstage. Then join the youth DJs for the after party.

  • What: Relive the Jazz Age with a live performance by the Beauty Shop Dolls. Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy music from the 1920s to 1940s while sipping on a cup of coffee or tea and indulging in sweet treats. Don’t forget to wear your Gatsby-themed costume for a chance to win a prize.

The Heart of Robin HoodThe Commedia Tales of King Arthur

  • What: Following outstanding successes with Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, and Larry Shue, Beach House Theatre is extremely excited to present a new play, The Heart Of Robin Hood, by David Farr of the Royal Shakespeare Company. For the younger audiences, BHT also presents the adventures of another great hero of English folklore, with Lane Riosley’s The Tales of King Arthur.
